Short Week

Don't forget it will be a short week for the students this week.  There will not be any school on Friday.

I have quite a few of the students already say their preamble.  I am very impressed!!!!!  Remember you have until the 12th to memorize and say the preamble to me.

Book talks- I have had a few questions about the book talks.  The students right now need to be finding a book on their level that they want to read.  I needs to be a chapter book.  On October 31st they will dress up as a character from the book and tells us about the book.  They are going to be trying to convince the students in the class to read or not read the book and why or why not.  I have a list of requirements and a rubric.  I will post these Monday.  I just realized they are saved on my computer at work and not at home. :(  Sorry.  But the main thing right now is to get the book picked out and read.  I have been giving them as much time as I can during the school day.  But they need to be reading at home also to make sure they get the book read in time to get the report part finished and practiced.

We are almost finished with our unity quilt.  I am going to be putting it on butcher block paper and hanging it in the hallway.  We are just waiting on a few students to finish their block up.  It will be finished this week and I will take a picture of it for the blog.  I am really proud of their work, the quilt really looks great so far!!!!!

We are going to be moving on to division soon, so please make sure your student is working on their multiplication facts.  It is hard to do division if you don't know your facts.  :)
