Well, I am very sorry I have not been keeping up to date. Between basketball practices for three girls, sickness, and everything else that goes on in life I have not been on top of things.
-Please remember our policy for sick children. There has been a lot of the flu going around, I was down with it this weekend myself. But remember if your child is throwing up, or has a fever, please don't send them to school. They also have to be without a fever for 24 hrs. before they can come back. I really hope this passes out of the area quickly so everyone can get back to school. :)
- NOT THIS WEEK, but next week we will be having a Science test on Chap. 11 and 13. We did not cover Chap. 12 right now, we will come back to it if there is time. I will be handing out Study Guides this Friday and the test will be the following Wednesday, February 6th.
-In Social Studies we are starting to discuss the events leading up to, and then the Revoluationary War. The students are going to be creating ABC books for their final assessment.
-Math we are starting fractions this week, and in reading we are going to be doing a play.
-Mrs. McEntire and I are trying to do a lot more writing and not as many multiple choice. Which will help your student in the long run, to be better writers and thinkers. We have been slowly incorporating writing into everything we are doing. Having said that however, after the ABC books in Social Studies we will probably not be doing any more big projects until after the MAP test.
-There are only two months left until the MAP test, we will start doing a lot more reviewing, Buckle Down, ect. to get ready for the MAP test. This month will not be too much reviewing, but the month of March we will be hitting it heavy to get your students ready.
I hope everyone has a great week! I can't believe January is almost over already!
